When Vimexx is the better choice
- Price is what matters most. Vimexx Basic renews at €2.99 a month ex VAT; our Starter is €5.
- You want servers in the Netherlands. Vimexx hosts in the Netherlands; we host in Germany.
- You want email addresses and daily backups included. With us each mailbox is €2 a month, and backups are weekly with daily as an add-on.
- You are comfortable with a control panel and want to set things up yourself.
- You want domains, VPS or reseller hosting from the same provider.
When veldhost fits better
- You want the hosting run for you: we handle the server, updates, HTTPS, DNS and backups; you never need a control panel.
- You want the move done for you on the entry plan too: our migration is free on every plan, Starter included.
- You want one price with no introductory rate: Starter is €5 a month ex VAT from the first month.
- You want one container per site and a SQL workbench, warehouse and dashboards over your site data.
Switching
Switching from Vimexx to veldhost
Your old hosting keeps running until you are happy. The move is free on every plan.
- Pick a plan and start the 14-day free trial. Your site at Vimexx keeps running as it is.
- Request a free migration with the form, or import it yourself: upload a backup (a plugin export, or your files plus a database export), paste a download link, or let the importer pull it over SFTP.
- We copy files, database and mailboxes and put the site on a preview address. Nothing changes at Vimexx yet.
- Check the preview. Then point your domain at us: the domain stays registered where it is, you only change its nameservers, and the dashboard copies your existing DNS records first.
- Once the site runs and your email arrives here, cancel the hosting at Vimexx, but keep the domain registration: we do not sell domain names.
Moving from Vimexx: Vimexx lets you make and download backups yourself, which our importer or our engineers can use. Your domain can stay registered at Vimexx.

Questions about Vimexx and veldhost
Is veldhost cheaper than Vimexx?
No. Vimexx Basic is €0.45 a month ex VAT introductory and €2.99 after that; Plus is €4.49, then €8.50 (checked on 2 October 2026). veldhost Starter is €5 a month ex VAT, plus €2 per mailbox. The difference pays for managed hosting: we run the platform and do the migration for you.
Where are the servers?
veldhost runs in Germany (Falkenstein and Nuremberg) on servers rented from Hetzner and operated by us. Vimexx’s Webhosting Nederland runs in the Netherlands. If a Dutch location is a requirement, Vimexx fits it and we do not.
Can I keep my domain name at Vimexx?
Yes. We do not sell domain names, so your domain stays registered where it is. You only point its DNS at us: the dashboard copies your current records first and tells you which nameservers to enter. Keep paying Vimexx (or any registrar) for the domain registration itself.
Do you move my email as well?
Yes. The free migration covers your files, database, mailboxes and DNS. On veldhost each mailbox is an add-on of €2 a month ex VAT, so count the mailboxes you really use before you switch.
Is veldhost connected to Vimexx?
