- You want a free domain for the first year. We do not sell domain names.
- Your visitors are outside Europe and you want a data centre near them.
When veldhost fits better
- You do not want to prepay years ahead: veldhost bills monthly or annually and you can cancel any time, with no introductory rate that changes at renewal.
- You want a Dutch company and a Dutch-language contract and support, with servers in the EU only.
- You want the hosting run for you: we handle the server, updates, HTTPS, DNS and backups; no control panel to learn.
- You want to try it free for 14 days before you pay.
Switching
Switching from Hostinger to veldhost
Your old hosting keeps running until you are happy. The move is free on every plan.
- Pick a plan and start the 14-day free trial. Your site at Hostinger keeps running as it is.
- Request a free migration with the form, or import it yourself: upload a backup (a plugin export, or your files plus a database export), paste a download link, or let the importer pull it over SFTP.
- We copy files, database and mailboxes and put the site on a preview address. Nothing changes at Hostinger yet.
- Check the preview. Then point your domain at us: the domain stays registered where it is, you only change its nameservers, and the dashboard copies your existing DNS records first.
- Once the site runs and your email arrives here, cancel the hosting at Hostinger, but keep the domain registration: we do not sell domain names.

Questions about Hostinger and veldhost
Is veldhost cheaper than Hostinger?
Usually not. Hostinger Premium is €2.99 a month ex VAT when you prepay 48 months (€143.52) and renews at €9.99 a month (checked on 2 October 2026). veldhost Starter is €5 a month ex VAT, billed monthly or annually, plus €2 per mailbox. You pay more with us for managed hosting, short terms and an EU-only Dutch provider.
Where are the servers?
veldhost runs in Germany (Falkenstein and Nuremberg) on servers rented from Hetzner and operated by us; our processor agreement also permits Hetzner’s Finnish region, also in the EU. Hostinger lists data centres in Europe, North America, Asia and South America.
Can I keep my domain name at Hostinger?
Yes. We do not sell domain names, so your domain stays registered where it is. You only point its DNS at us: the dashboard copies your current records first and tells you which nameservers to enter. Keep paying Hostinger (or any registrar) for the domain registration itself.
Do you move my email as well?
Yes. The free migration covers your files, database, mailboxes and DNS. On veldhost each mailbox is an add-on of €2 a month ex VAT, so count the mailboxes you really use before you switch.
Is veldhost connected to Hostinger?
