The technical work is ours. The website is yours.
No server to configure, no control panel to learn. You choose a plan; the hosting, HTTPS, DNS and backups are set up around your site, and from then on we run it.

Server and platform security updates roll out across our fleet automatically. On WordPress, core installs its own security releases automatically; the plugins and themes you pick stay yours to choose and update.
Backups you can restore in one click.
Weekly encrypted backups on every plan, copied to a second location, with one-click restore and download from your dashboard. Want a backup every day? Daily backups with 30-day retention are an add-on at €4 a month per site.

HTTPS certificates are issued and renewed automatically. Your domain stays at your registrar; you point it at our EU nameservers and the technical records are managed for you.

Hosted somewhere else? We move it for you.
Files, database, email and DNS: we copy your site, check it on a preview address and only switch when you are happy. Your old host is left untouched until then. Prefer to do it yourself? The importer takes a backup, a link or SSH access. We reply to a migration request within one business day.

Location
Where are the servers?
In Germany — Falkenstein and Nuremberg — not in the Netherlands. veldhost is a Dutch company in Enschede; the servers are rented from Hetzner, a German provider, and operated entirely by us. There is no reseller and no US cloud provider in between, and your site, databases, mail and backups stay in the EU.
Our processor agreement also permits Hetzner’s Finnish region, which is in the EU too. The full sub-processor list is in the Data Processing Agreement.

Before you choose a host.
What does “managed” hosting actually mean?
We run everything underneath your website: the server, the web server and PHP, security updates, HTTPS certificates, DNS, backups and monitoring. On WordPress, core installs its own security releases automatically; plugins and themes you choose stay yours to update. You never need to log in to a server.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. You pick a plan and the hosting, HTTPS and backups are set up around your site. If you already have a website, we can move it for you. Questions go to support by email, in English or Dutch, and we reply within one business day.
Can you move my existing website?
Yes, free, on every plan. We copy your files, database, email and DNS, put the site on a preview address so you can check it, and only then switch your domain over. Your old host is left untouched until you are ready.
How often are backups made?
Weekly on every plan, encrypted and copied to a second location, with one-click restore from your dashboard. If you want a backup every day, the daily backups add-on keeps them for 30 days, for €4 a month per site (ex VAT).
Is email included?
Mailboxes on your own domain are an add-on: €2 per mailbox a month (ex VAT), on any plan, with webmail and IMAP/SMTP for your phone and Outlook.
Do I have to move my domain to you?
No. We do not sell or hold domains. Keep it at your registrar and point its DNS at us; the dashboard copies your current records first and tells you which nameservers to enter.
How does the free trial work?
Every hosting plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start, you are not charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel during the trial you pay nothing.
