# SSH, SFTP and database access

> Keys, FileZilla, and browsing your database with your own tools.

For developers and power users: full file access and secure database browsing, key-based only.

## Turn it on

1. Site → **Configure** tab → **SSH & SFTP access** → turn it on.
2. Add your SSH public key (usually `~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub`) there for this site, or under **Settings → Developer → Git & SSH** for every site you own. No passwords, ever.

## SFTP (files)

FileZilla/Cyberduck: protocol SFTP, plus the host, port and username shown on the tab. Your web root is where `index.php` lives.

## Shell

`ssh -p PORT user@host` (exact values on the tab). You land in your site directory; `php`, `composer` and `wp` are available.

## Browse your database

Your database only listens inside the container — nothing is exposed to the internet. The **Configure** tab shows a one-line tunnel command under the database; run it, then point TablePlus/DBeaver at `127.0.0.1` with the credentials shown next to it.
